Batman: The Dark Knight set box office record for opening day Friday at $66.4 million according to The Associated Press. Dark Knight surpassed last year’s previous record of $59.8 million that was set by Spiderman 3. Dark Knight took in a record $155.34 million in its first weekend topping Spiderman 3 at $151.1 million according to studios. According to AP, buzz had been high for the Batman sequel well before Ledger died of an accidental prescription-drug overdose in January. Trailers last fall revealing Ledger’s demented Joker, with crooked clown makeup, turned up the heat even more. And I have to say after watching Dark Knight I highly recommend you watch the movie, Ledger’s performance is true to all the hype.

Well that’s why they call it a RUMOR because there isn’t ever a guarantee that a story is true. Anyways my hopes got shot up just a little when I heard that there might be a big screen version of the popular hit show FRIENDS but! there isn’t going to be. A Warner Bros. rep denied any plans for a movie. Even some of the actors’ representatives stepped in to deny the rumors. Oh well. FRIENDS will always live on for me. Whether there will ever be a movie I think it’s best for everyone to leave it be. What do you think?

Rumor has it maybe that a possible FRIENDS movie is in the works? With the recent success of Sex and The City movie, the 6 FRIENDS, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox-Arquette, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Le Blanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, have decided to reprise their roles for the big screen within the next 18 months. Film production has been given the go-ahead according to reports by MailOnline. I wouldn’t be surprised if this were true. As a huge FRIENDS fan myself, I would like to see how this TV show makes its way to the big screen. The Season 10 series finale left Monica and Chandler starting life with a new house and newborn twins; Newlyweds Phoebe and Mike were just starting their marriage; Ross and Rachel had decided to be together after 10 years (TEARS); and Joey …. well the ever single bachelor … moved to California to pursue his dreams of acting … we all know how that ended. If you’re a FRIENDS fan what do you think the film’s storyline should be about? Would you go see the big screen version of the TV show? Do you think it’s a mistake to make a movie of the popular TV show? Two of my favorite episodes were The One with The Embryos and The One with the Prom Video. What was your favorite episode? Leave me some comments and if you have a favorite episode I will try to post them on this blog.

According to The Associated Press, The Dark Knight end credits pay tribute to late actor, Heath Ledger and also to a special-effects technician, Conway Wickliffe, who was killed in a stunt-car accident last September. ‘In memory of our friends Heath Ledger & Conway Wickliffe,’ reads the tribute included in the credits, which went up Thursday on the Warner Bros. publicity Web site. Ledger, who passed away in January of an accidental prescription overdose, plays the villianous Joker in the movie.

Aniston’s new movie He’s Just Not That Into You and Jolie’s upcoming drama, Changeling will go head to head in movie theaters this coming October. Aniston is expected to draw big office money while Jolie is said to be well received by critics for her performance in the Changeling. I guess we’ll wait and see.

According to his Web site, Sir Ian McKellen, Gandalf the Wizard, of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, says he is ready to reprise his character in two of Peter Jackson’s planned prequel movies The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, if Jackson would be a part of it he would. I’ve seen the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy and I must say that I could not not see Gandalf in the prequel, The Hobbit.

Mr. Owen Wilson is returning to work since his reported suicide attempt. According to the Associated Press, Wilson will begin shooting a new movie called ‘Marley and Me,’ co-starring Jennifer Aniston coming March 10. I absolutely love Owen Wilson and I have probably seen all of his movies. I’m glad that he’s gotten back to work.
