Former Golden Girls star Estelle Getty, 84, has passed away according to The Assciated Press. Getty, who suffered from advanced dementia, died early Tuesday morning at her Hollywood Boulevard home, her son, Carl Gettleman of Santa Monica said.

Comedian George Carlin died of heart failure at the age of 71 on Sunday according to The Associated Press. Carlin, who has always had heart problems, went into St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica complaining of chest pains only to pass away later that evening. Carlin leaves behind a series of memorable routines.

NBC’s Tim Russert, 58, has died of an apparent heart attack Friday. Russert was head of NBC’s Meet the Press program according to The Associated Press.

According to The Associated Press, a spokeswoman says rock pioneer, Bo Diddley, 79, died of heart failure on Monday. Diddley was known for his square guitar, dark glasses and black hat. Watch his performance back in 1966.

Legendary fashion icon, Yves Saint Laurent, 71, passed away Sunday night after a year-long battle with brain cancer according to a close friend and the Associated Press. In his own words, Saint Laurent once said he felt ‘fashion was not only supposed to make women beautiful, but to reassure them, to give them confidence, to allow them to come to terms with themselves.’ The fashion world will miss Yves Saint Laurent.

Funny man actor, comedian, Harvey Korman, 81, has passed away according to the Associated Press. Korman was known for his comedic characters in The Carol Burnett Show back in the 80s and for his role in the movie Blazing Saddles.

Academy Award winner, actor and director, Sydney Pollack, 73, has died of cancer according to the Associated Press. Pollack had won Oscars for producing and directing Out of Africa in 1985. I loved him as a comedic actor. He had been in several episodes of Will & Grace playing Will’s father, George Truman and for his role in Tootsie opposite Dustin Hoffman.

Country superstar Eddy Arnold passed away at age 89. He was known for, Make the World Go Away, which made him one of the most successful country singers in history according to The Associated Press.

According to the Associated Press, British coroner’s jury blames the paparazzi and chaffeur for Princess Diana and Dodi’s deaths, ruling that they were unlawfully killed because the driver and paparazzi were reckless - behavior tantamount to manslaughter. Whatever the reason, someone needs to take responsibility for their deaths.

It’s been 13 years since Selena’s death and today just seems like any other day. But for those of us who remember Selena’s music, 13 years later, she will remain forever in our hearts.
