The Pride Foundation, a local nonprofit organization that aids low-income residents, announced today that the Kardashian sisters and mom Kris Jenner will appear July 18 at Cooks, Cars and Kardashians, an event featuring a cookoff, battle of the bands and a car show.
It will take place at the Edinburg Race Track from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Proceeds will be used to supply Valley families with home repairs, fans and other needs during the summer months, volunteer Lisa Trevino said.
Ticket prices have not been announced.
The Kardashians will be on hand to give out trophies to the winners for the battle of the bands contest and the cook off. They will also take photos and do autograph signings, Trevino said.
The family has risen to fame in recent years in part due to their E! Network television show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which chronicles the life of the wannabe celebrity family, including Kris and Bruce Jenner and their six children.
Kris Jenner was married to the late Robert Kardashian, a defense attorney who became famous during the O.J. Simpson murder trial. Sisters Kourtney, Khloe and Kim Kardashian have become well-known public faces in light of the show’s success.
Prior to the show’s start, Kim Kardashian had a well-publicized sex tape scandal after an adult video company threatened to release footage they had acquired of her and R&B singer Ray J.
For more information on the event or to participate in any of the contests, call the Pride Foundation at (956) 383-0097.

This article was all good and set the tone for a positive event that involves some high profile celebraties like the Kardashian sisters and their mother. Then you have to totally ruin it by unecessarilly mentioning Kim’s sex video. How about linking her to something like Dancing With the Stars or girlfriend of New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush. I’m aware that you sometimes need to write stuff like this, but I found it quite unecessary and unprofessional.
